Jason Momoa opened up about his new duties as a P.E. teacher to his children as he remains quarantined with his family during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 40-year-old actor, who shares two kids – 12-year-old daughter Lola and 11-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf – with wife Lisa Bonet, said they’ve been keeping him plenty busy during their quarantine.

While the actor admitted it was nice to be at home for so long, since he’s usually so busy working, teaching his kids has brought a new set of challenges.

He told Ellen that the kids were doing ‘really well’ amid the quarantine, adding that Wolf was already being home-schooled before the outbreak.

‘They have time to check in with their friends, but I think they’re really loving it. They’re really loving having me home and we’re having a great time,’ he said.

He added, ‘thank God they have their teachers,’ before describing himself as the, ‘P.E. coach’ adding they go skateboarding and rock climbing at their home.

Ellen also mentioned that she heard the chiseled actor doesn’t like to work out, which he admitted is true, and that during quarantine he’s trying to lose weight.

‘Right now I’ve just been taking it easy on the food, because I love eating and I can’t get all the things I like,’ Momoa added.

‘So I’ve just been riding my bike and trying to thin out a little bit, I’ve been getting a little heavy,’ the Aquaman star said.

He also revealed that the last time he was on Ellen’s show, he ran into Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood on the studio lot.

‘Yeah, I freaked out and I yelled at my kids to come over and they have no idea who Clint Eastwood is,’ Momoa said, adding he was ‘really, really kind.’

‘He’s everything I wanted him to be, and I couldn’t help but fanboy,’ Momoa added, as Ellen guessed he would put Momoa in a movie.

Momoa will next be seen on the big screen as Duncan Idaho in the highly-anticipated adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune, in theaters this December.

The actor revealed that they filmed in Wadi Rum, Jordan, which he said he had, ‘never seen anything like it.’ 

He added it was an ‘honor’ to work with director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario), adding his character Duncan Idaho is a, ‘master swordsman who is made the right-hand man to Duke Leto, Oscar Isaac’s character.’

‘He’s kind of the Han Solo-ish of the group, he protects Timothee Chalamet and he serves Oscar Isaac,’ Momoa added.
