MasterChef judge Jock Zonfrillo settles the debate on which Arnott’s biscuit is the best once and for all

Jock Zonfrillo has entered the heated debate over which Arnott’s biscuit is the best.

Appearing on The Sunday Project on the weekend, the MasterChef judge was asked to pick a favourite between the Kingston and the Monte Carlo.

Guest host Em Rusciano explained that there had been a showdown in the office over which of the two was better.

Jock first tried the Kingston, digging in and commenting: ‘I like it, chocolate-y, nutty, good’.

He then took a bite of the Monte Carlo, before spitting it out and crying out, ‘Oh no, no thank you!’

The Glasgow-born chef declared the Kingston the winner, but said he ultimately preferred Tunnock’s Tea Cakes, a Scottish brand of chocolate biscuit.

The question of which is the best Arnott’s biscuit has been the source of frenzied debate throughout the years.

In 2019, the Good Food list ranked the Butternut Snap in the top spot, with the Kingston in second and the Scotch Finger third.

In fourth place came the Nice, and in fifth place, Milk Coffee, while in last place was the controversial Orange Slice.

In 2020, self-proclaimed ‘List King’ Bruno Bouchet ranked the iconic biscuits – labelling Kingston as ‘royalty’ and Butternut Snap as ‘cat vomit’.

In first place, he placed Milk Arrowroot, in second, Kingston, in third, Nice, in fourth, chock Ripple, in fifth, Scotch Finger, and in last place, Butternut Snap.

The Orange Slice is often ranked the worst Arnott’s biscuit in public votes.

It first hit shelves in 1992 and features two cookies with an orange cream filling in between, but many argue the flavours are too contrasting to be paired together.
