This is the heart-warming moment locals rescued a frightened cat after it got stuck in a second-floor apartment window while its owners were out at work. 

The scared pet struggled for more than an hour to free itself from the half-open window in the Russian city of Krasnodar, risking a 30ft fall to the pavement below.   

Alarmed passersby called the emergency services but they reportedly declined to assist.

‘A cat got stuck,’ she posted. ‘He was meowing for an hour. The emergency service refused to come. Scaffolding was brought from a nearby construction site.
