Married At First Sight groom Chris Jensen has broken his silence following reports he was arrested on drugs charges prior to appearing on the show.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the tattooed FIFO worker, 32, insisted that he’s ‘only human’ and has never tried to be anything but authentic.
‘I am not perfect, I am not trying to be however, I will always be real. I am human. If my heart is in the right place and I try my best then I am ok with this,’ he wrote.

‘I am a son, I am a brother, I am a father, I am an uncle, I am a friend. I take a great deal of pride in being all of these roles,’ the single father-of-two continued.
Chris ended his post on a positive note by thanking his fans for their loyalty.
‘Thank you to each of you who have accepted and supported me for ME. I appreciate it. I hope you each are appreciated to for who you are and being the real you,’ he wrote.

In the accompanying photo, a serious-looking Chris was seen posing for a shirtless selfie while swimming in the ocean.
Chris’s heartfelt post comes almost a week after news broke that he was arrested on drugs charges prior to his appearance on Married At First Sight.
The reality star faces one count of trafficking dangerous drugs – serious organised crime.

He was due to appear for a mention before Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday, but the matter was adjourned until April 23.
Chris had previously been granted Supreme Court Bail, The Courier Mail reported.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Thursday, Queensland Courts and the Department of Justice and Attorney-General confirmed the charges.

He was arrested alongside three co-accused, who are all facing similar charges.
A Brisbane Magistrates Court spokesman told The Courier Mail that Chris last appeared in court before on October 30, 2020, after being granted magistrates bail in 2018.
During his last appearance his bail was enlarged, and the matter was adjourned to July 23.

Chris also faces single charges of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in commission of a crime, possessing used utensils or pipes and two counts of possessing property suspected of being proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.
Chris was a late-comer to this year’s season of Married At First Sight, and was paired with Jaimie Gardner.
The two failed to form a connection however, and opted to leave the series during last Monday night’s episode.
