He is set to make a dramatic exit from EastEnders this year as his storyline comes to an end.

And Davood Ghadami looked ready to take on big things as he recorded a gruelling Crossfit workout for his Instagram Story on Sunday. 

The actor, 38, who has played market trader Kush Kazemi in the BBC One soap for six years, showed off his chiseled abs in the video as he lifted a huge weight.

Davood displayed his phenomenal fitness levels as he went shirtless for the weightlifting session, wearing a pair of navy shorts, a weightlifting belt and knee supports.  

The EastEnders star picked the weights with six plates up off the floor and lifted it above his head, in an impressive display of strength.

As he raised the bar high above his head, he appeared to yell, ‘Yes!’ and then let the weight drop safely to the floor.

He captioned the video, tagging Crossfit Games and admitting that the workout was a challenge, writing: “That was tough’.

Davood’s EastEnders character Kush will leave Albert Square in 2021 as bosses already have a ‘huge plot planned’ for his departure.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Kush will be written out of the soap next year as his storyline reaches a natural close’. 

Speaking about the exit, a TV insider told Metro.co.uk: ‘Bosses have a huge plot planned but although Davood was told in January, his departure it is not for a very long time yet in fact Kush will be on screen until well into 2021.’ 

An EastEnders spokesperson also told the publication: ‘We can confirm Davood will be leaving EastEnders when his contract comes to an end next year.’

He has most recently struck up a romance with Whitney Dean, played by Shona McGarty, after his relationship with Kat Slater, portrayed by Jessie Wallace, ended. 

The duo grew close after Whitney helped him hide out following his disastrous involvement in the Mitchells’ car heist – with the fallout ultimately bring about the end of his relationship with Kat. 

Whitney and Kush recently spent Valentine’s Day together just as friends, but it was clear to see from then that sparks were beginning to fly for the pair.  

Since then, they’ve enjoyed a blossoming romance, but with his exit looming, how will this play out? 

Kush was previously married to Shabnam Masood, played most recently by Rakhee Thakrar.
