Married At First Sight’s Bryce Ruthven was called out by Beck Zemek for having a ‘secret girlfriend’ outside of the experiment at the dinner party on Wednesday.
And on Thursday, radio host Gabi Elgood revealed on Hit Breakfast QLD with Cliffo and Gabi that her cousin and Bryce were messaging each other just weeks before filming.
She said she received a text from her cousin, based in Canberra, who told her that Bryce had been texting her last year.

Gabi said her cousin showed her screenshots of their texts that confirmed that her correspondence with him ‘definitely happened’.
While she wasn’t able to reveal how her cousin and Bryce met, she said they had tried to arrange a date, but their conflicting schedules meant they never met.
Overwhelmed with all the information, Gabi created a timeline lining up information Bryce provided on MAFS, along with intel she received from her radio friends in Canberra – where Bryce was working as a presenter until last year.
Breaking it down for listeners, she began with his engagement, which he said he had called off six months before filming – around August or September – placing the split approximately in March.

‘He also said last night that he had a fling with a girl he met on Tinder only weeks before filming,’ Gabi recalled, placing that event around August, weeks before his wedding.’
Gabi also said that Bryce had applied for a regional radio job in March 2020, and mentioned he had been cast on MAFS at the time, before moving to Canberra in May.
She continued: ‘Rumour has it he met his ‘secret girlfriend’ not long after that.’

‘There was definitely a girl on the scene because a friend of mine, who’s part of his social circle, met said girl three times. Never said it was his girlfriend, but he definitely had a girl.’
Gabi noted Bryce started to texting her cousin in July, but ‘schedules conflicted so they never met up.’
‘But he was keen as beans – even though he knew that in a month’s time he’d be filming MAFS and “secret girlfriend” still around at this point too.’

‘Don’t swear. It comes across abusive. I won’t have it, so don’t do it,’ he added.
