Ryan Reynolds has revealed his most challenging role is being a father and joked his three girls are like ‘little Rubix cubes’ he can ‘never figure out’.

The Hollywood star, 44, has daughters James, six, Inez, four, and baby Betty, 17 months, with actress Blake Lively, 33, and spoke about life as a dad with This Morning’s Alison Hammond on Monday.

The actor was asked what he finds the most challenging out of his movie career, fatherhood, being a husband running a gin company and owning a football club.

Ryan answered: ‘It’s probably Dad, that’s the thing that keeps you up at night. I’ve got three daughters. They’re like little Rubix cubes that you can never figure out!’

Alison continued: ‘I notice you’ve got your own hair salon’ referring to him colouring his wife Blake’s hair during lockdown.

He joked: ‘Nothing more terrifying than that request. I felt like, let’s just shave the thing.

‘She was coaching me every second of the way, which is just a nice way of saying she was yelling at me…’

Speaking about the forthcoming Deadpool 3 film, Alison asked: ‘If your character wears a mask, couldn’t the stunt double just do all the work whilst you relaxes in your trailer eating cake?’

Ryan responded: ‘I wish I could. Deadpool is in a kind of weird way clown work. You’re in this mask and you’re having to push through this mask and tell the stories.

‘Deadpool is not like a character that’s overly macho. He doesn’t saunter away, he sashays away.

‘So these are all sorts of performance things that require me to be in the suit. And I would be sad if I wasn’t in the suit.

‘I love the suit, it feels like an extension of some weird aspect of my dark personality that I get to embrace.’

Ryan is also set to star alongside Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer in new film Free Guy, which is due to be released in May.

Speaking about being a fan of Killing Eve, Ryan exclaimed: ‘Oh big time. My wife and I are massive fans of the show and Jodie herself.

‘She’s so good… she does several accents in the [new] movie as well. It’s just wild to watch her shift gears like that.’

Speaking of more celebrity pals, Alison asked about his ‘feud’ with Hugh Jackman, who Ryan said was the ‘nicest man on earth’.

Asking about her friend Hugh, Alison asked: ‘What is this deep rooted resentment, where does it come from?’

‘I can’t stomach the man,’ joked Ryan. ‘He’s the nicest man on Earth and I find that threatening, as a Canadian I find that threatening.

‘He makes ice cream look like murder! That’s how nice Hugh Jackman is.’

Ryan first met Blake on the set of the 2010 superhero film Green Lantern, which they co-starred in, and the A-list couple have been together since October 2011.

The couple married in September 2012 at a South Carolina plantation, a venue they publicly apologised for using last year.
