Ola Jordan admits it’s been a ‘difficult and sad time’ after her husband James’ father’s death

Ola Jordan has revealed it’s been a ‘difficult and sad time’, following the death of her husband James’ father.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star, who welcomed her ‘miracle’ daughter, 12 months, in February 2020 after a lengthy IVF battle, said she’s been a ‘shoulder to cry on’ for her husband after his dad’s passing. 

On Saturday James revealed the sad news on Instagram that his father Allan had passed away after battling a brain tumour, noting that his dad ‘became an angel at 8:05am.’

Speaking to The Sun on her first Mother’s Day with her daughter, Ola reflected on a year that’s been both challenging and miraculous for herself and James following the birth of their baby girl.

The dancer said she’s tried to maintain a positive outlook despite learning James’ father had been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

She said: ‘Seeing a really healthy man deteriorate so much in a year has been shocking. 

‘It’s been very emotional, but I’ve just got to be strong for him because I have a baby to look after.

‘All I can do is be a shoulder to cry on right now. It’s a very difficult and sad time.’ 

James revealed that his beloved dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer back in July, following four months of health woes and trips to the hospital.

The dancer shared the heartbreaking news on social media, as he appealed to his followers for help in finding a specialist surgeon for his dad. 

Since then the dancer has spoken candidly about his father’s deteriorating health, and being unable to visit him in hospital due to Covid restrictions, and broke down in tears on Loose Women last month while discussing Allan’s terminal prognosis.

Hours before his father’s death, James shared just how much he meant to him in a post that simply read: ‘I love you dad’ alongside a red heart emoji. 

Over the weekend James then took to Instagram to share the tragic news of his father’s passing, writing: ‘My dad became an angel at 8:05am. I will forever miss him. He will always be my hero. RIP Daddy.’ 

Due to the Covid lockdown Ola’s parents are yet to meet their granddaughter Ella, and have only seen the tot via. Facetime from their native Poland.

The dancer said she hopes this is the only Mother’s Day she’ll spent without her mum Janina, and revealed her father breaks down in tears when he sees little Ella on their video calls.

Ola and James welcomed their little girl after a lengthy IVF battle, and the dancer said despite the struggles she’s glad she waited until she was older to start a family.

Despite the challenges faced by many couples during lockdown, Ola added that her marriage to James is stronger than ever thanks to their sense of humour, though their lives as new parents had meant finding time for date nights has been hard. 

The dancer also said she hasn’t felt any pressure to slim down in the year since giving birth to her daughter, and is now content with her post-pregnancy figure.
