Stassi Schroeder says pregnancy ‘saved’ her from turning to drugs and alcohol during racism scandal

Stassi Schroeder thinks being pregnant while she dealt with the fallout from her racism scandal ‘100% saved’ her from going down a dark path of drugs and alcohol.

The former Vanderpump Rules star, 33, lost her part on the hit reality show, her Straight Up With Stassi podcast, was dropped from endorsement deals and was let go by her PR agency after former castmate Faith Stowers revealed Schroeder and fellow SUR regular Kristen Doute falsely reported her to the police.

But the self-proclaimed ‘basic b****’ credits daughter Hartford Charlie Rose with stopping her from resorting to ‘alcoholism’ or abusing ‘Xanax.’

‘I think [it] made me so much better to be pregnant while I was going through a hard time,’ Schroeder said in the clip from her podcast, The Good, The Bad, The Baby with husband Beau Clark posted to her Instagram Story on Tuesday.

Saving grace: Stassi Schroeder says her pregnancy ‘100% saved’ her from resorting to drugs and alcohol after racist behavior from her past was rehashed last summer, causing her to lose her role on Vanderpump Rules, her podcast, endorsement deals and her PR representation

‘If I wasn’t pregnant, I probably would have just like … gone to alcoholism, Xanax. I would have lashed out, dark passenger-ed. And I think our baby 100 percent saved me.’

Stassi’s pregnancy was revealed on June 13th, just days after she was fired from Vanderpump Rules.

Following the backlash, the New York Times Bestselling author addressed her behavior in a social media statement.

‘Racially insensitive comments from my past have resurfaced. It is important that I continue to take accountability for what I have said and done, while pushing myself to do better,’ she wrote.

‘I have grown significantly from the person I was then, and I am still filled with remorse and regret for the hurt I caused.’

‘I am grateful for the people in my life that continue to check me and push me to evolve into a more educated person.’

And now that she’s a mother, Stassi is striving to set a good example.

She and Beau officially welcomed baby Hartford on January 8, but did not reveal their child’s arrival on social media until January 21.

‘Beau & I have spent the last couple of weeks enjoying every moment with our daughter. Every cuddle, every sound, every poop, all of it,’ captioned the star, who included a peaceful snapshot of the newborn.

‘It’s her two week birthday and I feel like I’m finally ready to share my little girl. Meet Hartford Charlie Rose Clark, the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

‘My heart is so freaking full. I can’t believe I get to keep her.’

Stassi had a grandmother called Rosemary who died in 2019 and Beau’s father is named Charlie, hence the baby’s middle names.

The couple got married in September in a small casual outdoor ceremony after their big wedding plans had to be put on hold due to the pandemic.

‘We went and did it anyway. ❤️ Married sept 2020. Hopefully Italian dream wedding oct 2021,’ Stassi revealed in an October post to Instagram.

They got engaged in July 2019, and the proposal aired on the last season of Vanderpump Rules before Stassi was fired.
