Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike says her new role in I Care a Lot was the ‘most challenging’ of her career
Rosamund Pike is known for her effortless ability to take on a dark role or sinister character.
But the Gone Girl actress revealed on Saturday that her latest movie, the Netflix comedy thriller I Care A Lot, was her toughest performance yet.
The 42-year-old had to film scenes where she was trapped in a car underwater, which she did alongside a dive buddy.

She told The West Australian: ‘It was the most challenging two days of filming I’ve ever done.
‘Even though your brain knows you’re acting, your sympathetic nervous system does not know you’re acting when you’re struggling and you’re against the clock and you’re trying to get the head rest out of a car, and you’re completely underwater.’
The actress added that she had moments of extreme anxiety where she needed some support.
She told said: ‘It was the most challenging two days of filming I’ve ever done. There would be times after about three or four takes, when I called for my oxygen, I needed to hold the hand of my diving buddy, like I needed her to kind of regulate my panic’. Pictured in I Care A Lot

Rosamund told Graham Norton recently: ‘I think it lets the audience off the hook – because at no point does my character asks you to care about her and she gives you completely free rein to dislike her.
‘She doesn’t give a damn. She is dastardly but fun to watch. All the characters in this film are deliciously unsavoury.’
