Eddie Murphy reunites Randy Watson and the Sexual Chocolate ahead of Coming 2 America premiere

Eddie Murphy is finally treating his fans to a long overdue sequel of his 1988 comedy Coming to America.

And the Golden Globe winner is bringing back all of our favorite characters in the new installment Coming 2 America, premiering March 5 on Amazon Prime.

He reunited the movie’s cheesy soul band Randy Watson and the Sexual Chocolate, playing the outlandish frontman for a Valentine’s Day giveaway, ahead of the highly-anticipated sequel.

The 59-year-old sported a bejeweled blue jumpsuit and a head of lush Jheri curls as he led the ensemble in a new teaser.

He puts on quite a show in the 48-second infomercial style clip, which promises a ‘one night only’ event, ‘for the first time in 30 years!’

The video also offers fans a chance to win a limited edition promotional box of Sexual Chocolate, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

A new trailer for the upcoming comedy recently dropped during Super Bowl Sunday, promising plenty of laughs in the sequel.

In addition to the returning cast, it will also feature Teyana Taylor, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Morgan Freeman, Wesley Snipes, Rick Ross and KiKi Layne. 

Murphy told Ellen DeGeneres of the sequel in December of 2019: ‘I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. 

‘A lot of people have this expectation, like, people would say to me when they found out I was doing it, “Don’t fuck that movie up.” So we’ve gone above and beyond what anybody would think. I’m really, really happy with it.’
