A man in his 20s has died after suffering a serious injury at a house on the outskirts of Bristol, with a 25-year-old in custody on suspicion of murder. 

Avon and Somerset Police were called out to a home in Kingswood at around 3am yesterday morning, where they discovered the victim.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

A 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody, as police appeal for any witnesses who were near the home in Kennard Road to come forward.

Officers remain outside the home today as forensic teams begin a search for evidence. 

DCI Darren Hannant, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: ‘At this stage we’re treating the death as suspicious and a 25-year-old man has been arrested.

‘A forensic post-mortem examination will now be carried out to determine the cause of the man’s death and the property has been cordoned off so further enquiries can take place.

‘The victim’s family are aware will be supported by a specialist liaison officer.

‘We know this incident will cause concern to those living in the local area so there will be additional patrols of the area over the coming days.’
