MAFS: Jonethen Musulin begs a Hobart nightclub to let him ‘skip the queue’

Don’t you know who I am? Married At First Sight’s Jonethen Musulin begs a Hobart nightclub to let him ‘skip the queue’ – only to be told to wait in line like everyone else

A former Married At First Sight contestant has been caught trying to skip the queue at a popular nightclub in Hobart, Tasmania.

But Jonethen Musulin’s request was shut down by the venue’s management because of how he treated his ex-‘wife’ Connie Crayden on last year’s season.

On Sunday, staff from The Grand Poobah Hotel posted a private message exchange between the venue and Jonethen which had taken place via Instagram the night before.

That backfired! Former Married At First Sight star Jonethen Musulin has been caught trying to skip the queue at a popular nightclub in Hobart, Tasmania

‘Hey, I’m in Hobart for one night and would love to come in,’ Jonethen had messaged the nightclub. ‘Currently in the line. Am I able to post and cut the queue?’

His request wasn’t that unusual: many influencers get special treatment at clubs and restaurants in exchange for glowing posts on Instagram.

But this establishment wasn’t taking the bait, and promptly told the reality star he had to wait in line like everybody else.

‘Nah, you can stay in the line… this one’s for Connie,’ management wrote, making it clear they sided with his mild-mannered ex.

Jonethen is now dating glamorous brunette Lili Newman, who is accompanying him on his trip to scenic Tasmania.

Fans will remember the Gold Coast miner had a rather tumultuous relationship with shy student Connie on Married At First Sight last year.

Jonethen had tried to end the relationship for weeks by voting to leave at the commitment ceremonies.

While Connie acknowledged their romance didn’t have potential, she insisted on staying in the experiment for the purposes of personal growth – a decision that made Jonethen increasingly frustrated as the weeks went by.

They eventually decided to leave the show as friends at their final vows.

Connie thanked her ‘husband’ for helping her to become a strong, confident woman, but they didn’t keep in touch after production wrapped.

‘I had a huge transformation, I really did,’ Connie told 9Now afterwards.

‘I started off the experiment with such low self-esteem, I was very awkward – it was quite sad,’ she added.

Connie told Today Extra in March that she and Jonethen had ‘called it quits on the friendship’ not long after shooting the finale.
