Impaulsive! Logan Paul reveals he spent $2M on six boxes of first edition Pokemon cards

Controversial YouTuber Logan Paul revealed on Wednesday that he has spent $2M dollars on Pokemon cards.

The 25-year-old posted a video to his channel sharing that it took him three months to collect six boxes of first edition Pokemon cards, spending anywhere from $200K to $350K on each.

He called it an ‘estate’s worth’ of cards, adding that they were some of the ‘biggest transactions’ of his life.

First rising to popularity in the nineties, the wildly popular Japanese game involves trading cards with characters on them in order to build the strongest fleet for battle.

Securing the rarest and most powerful cards increases the chances of reigning victorious in the Poke-world (plus bragging rights), with many seeing the value of the game for collecting purposes at an early age.

An investment and a hobby, Paul procured the verified-authentic boxes from various reputable connections, with his priciest transaction costing him a whopping $675K for two.

The Impaulsive host is currently planning a major unboxing event for February 27 – what he dubs ‘Pokemon Day’ – with opening bids starting at $10,000 per pack (there are 36 packs per box).

Each pack being auctioned contains a random assortment of cards with some being so rare that they can be sold for six-figures a piece if you are fortunate enough to find them.

He shared a photo of his treasures to Instagram as he wrote, ‘Mission accomplished. Took 3 months and $2,000,000 to collect these 1st Edition Pokemon Boxes.’

His first unboxing event took place last October where he garnered 300,000 concurrent views and ended up raising over $130K for mental illness from donations.

First flashing his ‘most fun investment’ on Instagram back in September he wrote:

‘nostalgia + business = the new art. just bought an estate’s worth of Pokemon cards, most fun investment I’ve ever made…these things are appreciating like crazy as collectibles are becoming very low supply, high demand art pieces. Alakazam is my personal favorite.’
