Beverley Turner, 47, steps out with toyboy boyfriend James Pritchett, 32

Beverley Turner was pictured enjoying a walk with her boyfriend eco-housing property developer, James Pritchett on Friday.

Television presenter Beverley held hands with James, who is 15 years her junior on the cold walk, with both wearing dark ensembles and sunglasses.

The couple were first linked back in September 2019, six months after Beverley and husband Olympic rowing champ James Cracknell, 48, announced their split.

Beverley’s outing comes after she explained why she refused to clap for Captain Sir Tom Moore, who died on Tuesday aged 100 who had coronavirus after battling pneumonia.

A ray of light shining through the tragedies of the pandemic, Moore raised more than £32million for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden before his milestone birthday.

Beverley said she objected to the applause because she felt it maintained ‘the fear that imminent death is all around’ and on the basis it had been used by the authorities to push the idea everyone was ‘in this together’.

Ms Turner had posted online at 5.50pm on Wednesday, ten minutes before the clap’s allotted time.

She wrote: ‘Sir Tom Moore and his family did a brilliant job of raising £ for the NHS. It’s great that he lived to 100! It’s awesome that he got one last fab holiday.

‘But I’m not clapping in the St to maintain the fear that imminent death is all around & we’re all in this together. We’re not.’

Beverley detailed her thoughts further to the MailOnline on Thursday, writing: 'Sir Tom Moore was a wonderfully optimistic 100-year-old Yorkshireman who's determination lifted the mood of the nation'

Piers Morgan – who hosts Good Morning Britain, a programme she has appeared on – hit out at her, she responded back to him refusing to back down.

Ms Turner added to a social media user: ‘Pro- lockdown, pro-fear, pro-government advocates do not have the moral high ground right now.

‘It has never been more vital to question and interrogate the prevailing narrative! That’s all. Gotta go make the kids tea.’

She also said: 'Whilst we exist in this current climate of fear and judgement, it has become socially unacceptable to challenge the overt public narrative of what is "right or wrong".'

‘I have defended his right to take one last holiday in Barbados with his lovely family and have toasted his extraordinary fundraising efforts.

‘I understand why people would wish to publicly applaud him on their doorsteps – not least the amazing NHS staff for whom he raised a staggering £33million completing his own garden marathon.

But whilst we exist in this current climate of fear and judgement, it has become socially unacceptable to challenge the overt public narrative of what is ‘right or wrong.’

Having expressed – very briefly – my mixed feelings about Sir Tom’s doorstep ovation on social media, I was subject to something of a ‘twitter pile-on’ sparked by Piers Morgan.

‘I have always enjoyed sparring with Piers on the GMB sofa – there appeared to be a mutual respect given our shared willingness to express an opinion. I expect we share more common ground than it is possible to articulate on social media.’
