Sophie spoke to Paul and Anna about her romantic history, with Anna asking saying: ‘It’s important to really think about values and what ones are playing into your thoughts, your behaviours, your actions.

‘So respect, can we ask you to talk us through what that value is all about for you.’

Sophie broke down in tears as she discussed her struggles in a past relationship. She said: ‘I’ve been in very toxic relationships before. One was the hardest time of my life.

‘And it was really horrible for me and I couldn’t get out of it, it was like a toxic drug where you constantly break up and then you keep on going back. I had issues with letting go. Clearly, I still have I think.

‘I’ve never spoken about this actually, to anyone… and here we go. It’s just everyone sees this exterior of me, which is very strong and confident and not that.

‘But it’s something that’s almost – it’s not a shield, because it is who I am. Now I just think there’s no one anymore that I like.

‘I hate everyone. It’s so bad. I don’t hate everyone, there’s just no one that you feel this connection with.’

A sympathetic Anna reassured Sophie that she shouldn’t blame herself for the ‘toxic’ relationship, telling her: ‘These situations do shape and change us. Because your past has been painful.

‘But whilst you’re sitting with that pain, and perhaps the anger – of course anger. I think you need to forgive yourself for those situations that you were in. Nothing that you went through was your fault.’

On Tuesday viewers saw Sophie ask DJ Tom Zanetti on a date after failing to connect with any other male suitors in the house.

It’s yet to transpire how this will pan out between the pair, but Tom seemed more than keen to see where things would go.
