Oscar winner Regina King managed to make history, yet again, after the 78th Golden Globe Award nominations were announced Wednesday morning.
The 50-year-old triple-threat is only the second African-American woman to receive a best director nomination at the Globes after Selma filmmaker Ava DuVernay in 2014.
It’s especially impressive considering that the critically-acclaimed Amazon Studios drama – based on Kemp Powers’ 2013 play – marked Regina’s feature directorial debut.
