Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield giggle as they chat about Gobbler’s Knob

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield can’t contain their giggles as they struggle to introduce a segment about American park Gobbler’s Knob

Hilarity ensued on Tuesday’s This Morning, when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield struggled to keep straight faces when introducing a segment about American park Gobbler’s Knob.

The Pennsylvania location is famous for its Groundhog Day ceremony, in which a groundhog called Punxsutawney Phil predicts how many more days there will be of winter.

With the ceremony taking place on Tuesday – which saw Phil predict six more weeks of winter but a glorious spring to follow – Holly and Phil found themselves tasked with introducing the segment about it.

The duo, as well as Lisa Snowdon, had a tricky time of it, bursting into laughter as they chatted about the American tradition.

They were listing what was coming up in the show, with Holly saying through giggles: ‘We’ll be going live to Gobbler’s Knob…’

‘We were going to try so hard!’ Phil said. ‘The decision was, we do this, we do this and we don’t break a smile. It’s just the name of a place, don’t break a smile!

‘We’ve blown it!’

There was of course a lot of Twitter response to the famously-cheeky pair.

‘How many times can they say Gobblers’ Knob on TV without laughing?’ one person remarked.

Another posted: ‘Every time @hollywills or @Schofe say “gobblers Knob” whilst discussing #GroundhogDay, I screech a little inside!’

‘Holly is dying to laugh each time she says “Gobbler’s Knob”!’ another observed.
