First look: Channel Seven’s new reality show Wife Swap will see on two wives switching families for one week. The first episode will centre on a woman with a husband and two daughters who runs a strict and very controlled household in the suburbs

She will swap homes with a ‘carefree’ wife who raises 11 children with her laid-back husband.

Ahead of the swap, the women prepare a list of rules for how they run their household – which the new wife must follow no matter how different their parenting styles are.

The ‘carefree’ mother is visibly uncomfortable at the dinner table with her new husband and two girls, as she faces the reality of her rigid rule book.

Meanwhile, her strait-laced counterpart is horrified by the chaos and lack of discipline allowed by her new husband.

The wives will later take control by enforcing their own set of rules, which their new husband and children must follow.

The laid-back husband challenges the rules set in place by his new wife, telling her that he doesn’t think it’s ‘necessary’ – and even encourages his children to rebel.
