Karl Stefanovic is mortified after Today co-host suggests he’s hiding an ERECTION

Karl Stefanovic was the butt of everyone’s joke on Wednesday’s Today show, after his co-host playfully suggested he was hiding an erection on live TV.   

Th embarrassing moment occurred during a segment about a new viral video of The Crown’s cast dancing to Lizzo’s song Good As Hell on-set.  

After the footage played on-screen, the cameras returned to the Today couch – where Karl was sitting with a conspicuous white pillow on his lap. 

Unfortunately, the position of the cushion made it appear as though Karl was hiding an erection.

‘What’s with the cushion?’ sports reporter Alex Cullen wryly asked the father-of-four. 

Red-faced, Karl exclaimed: ‘I don’t know! It was just there… you weirdos!’, while  frantically removing the pillow from his lap.

Karl’s co-host Ally Langdon and entertainment reporter Brooke Boney immediately exploded in a fit of hysterical laughter and began uncontrollably rolling around on the couch. 

Ally jokingly suggested that Karl had been aroused after watching ‘the Queen dancing’ in The Crown’s viral video.  

‘You need to take a good, hard look at yourself,’ Karl said in mock-outrage.   

The laughter continued as Ally welcomed the hosts of Today Extra, David Campbell and Sylvia Jeffreys, to the studio.

Having watched Karl’s embarrassing faux pas unfold from off-camera, David joked: ‘I tell you what, that Iron Lady, she could get you going in the morning!’ 

Heavily pregnant Sylvia, who is married to Karl’s brother Peter, also jokingly begged producers to axe the segment altogether. 

‘I think we might have to take ourselves off-air after that. Who’s got access to the red button? Where is it when you need it?’
