MasterChef judge Melissa Leong has reflected on 2020, admitting it was a year her life ‘changed irrevocably’.

On New Year’s Eve [Thursday], the 38-year-old admitted that her year was filled with many highs and lows.   

‘2020 will always be the year my life changed irrevocably. It’s never all good, or all bad, what prevails is the work we put into ourselves and the people we love,’ Melissa began in the post.

Her comments come just over a week after the food critic announced her split from her husband of almost four years, bar owner Joe Jones. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

‘Thank you so very much to everyone to [sic] gave me the dignity of truly hearing and seeing me, for witnessing me take a leap of faith with kindness, support and patience,’ she continued.

She said she was using the end of the year as a time to ‘reflect’ with the ‘intention for a better, brighter year ahead’.

‘It may be expected to reflect at this time of the year, but I don’t see how that’s a bad thing if it’s an opportunity to set intention for a better, brighter year ahead,’ Melissa continued. 

‘I wish that for you, whoever you are and wherever you may be in your own story. ⁣⁣

‘If this year and the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that we truly are connected,’ she concluded.

Earlier in December, Melissa announced the end of her marriage with a photo of herself and Joe on their wedding day in Joshua Tree in California in February 2017.

‘It has brought us such happiness to walk together, but the time has come for Joe and I to part ways and walk on, apart,’ she wrote on Instagram just before Christmas. ⁣⁣

In June, Melissa revealed she married the tattooed hunk after dating for only five months, because ‘when you know, you know’.

‘I first met him briefly at his bar in Melbourne, Romeo Lane. Then we met again properly about 18 months later at a function. We started talking there and we’ve just not ever ceased since really,’ she told TV WEEK at the time.
