Johnny Ruffo and his girlfriend Tahnee Sims pick up groceries in Sydney

Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo recently revealed he was battling brain cancer for a second time.

And on Monday, the 32-year-old actor was spotted picking up a loaf of bread with his longtime girlfriend, Tahnee Sims.

The lovebirds held hands as they popped to the shops near their Sydney home.

Johnny cut a casual figure in black shorts and a grey T-shirt, which he paired with sneakers and a wristwatch.

Meanwhile, Tahnee opted for a more festive look, sporting a set of Christmas-themed Peter Alexander pyjamas. 

She completed her look with black socks and slide-on sandals, and carried her keys and wallet.

Tahnee wore her long blonde hair loosely, and opted for minimal makeup.

Johnny was pictured carrying a loaf of Tip Top white sandwich bread as the couple returned home from the shops together.

The outing comes after Johnny shared an update on his cancer treatment last week, alongside two photos.

Posting to Instagram, Johnny smiled from ear to ear alongside his girlfriend as they posed in their car together.

In another photo, the former The X Factor star sat in a treatment room, seemingly while undergoing chemotherapy.

‘Ding, ding. Round Two. Fight! Let’s do this!’ Johnny captioned the images, alongside the hashtag #F**kCancer.

Johnny revealed on November 24 he was once again battling brain cancer.

‘After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned,’ Johnny told his social media followers.

Johnny was first diagnosed with the disease in 2017, after being hospitalised for painful migraines.

In August that year, he had a seven-centimetre brain tumour surgically removed, then underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Johnny rose to fame on Channel Seven talent show The X Factor in 2011, placing third in the competition.

He later portrayed Chris Harrington on soap opera Home and Away from 2013 to 2016.
