Countryfile viewers were left rolling in the aisles after Simon King told Ellie Harrison to ‘spread her legs’ as they attempted to take photos of birds on Sunday’s episode.
The pair were taking scenic photos of flying birds on a hillside when naturalist Simon gave Ellie advice on how to stabilise her handheld shots.
He said: ‘The faster you can get your shutter speed to work then the more likely you are to freeze movement’ before taking a snap of a jackdaw.

Ellie said: ‘That movement is quite hard. You’re sort of holding your camera then realising you have to be moving constantly.’
Simon responded: ‘This is the other thing, make yourself into the stabilising device.
‘So what you’re doing, get your elbow, tuck it in here, spread your legs a bit, like that, be that tripod, and then use your body to do the track.’
Fans were quickly left in hysterics by the comment, with one writing: ‘Simon telling Ellie to spread her legs. Oooh Matron.’

Last month Helen said she feels ‘guilty’ and ‘overcompensates’ for not giving her kids the childhood she had growing up on a farm.
The star, 37, told MailOnline after being raised in the Lake District, she longs to be able to give her children Louis, three, and Ernie, five, the chance to explore the countryside – but her TV career forces her to live on the edge of a city.
In an exclusive interview, Helen, who’s married to professional rugby player Richie Myler, 30, said she and her husband’s jobs prevent their young family from being able to reside closer to where her parents live in Cumbria.
She said: ‘I grew up on a farm on the edge of the Lake District so I constantly feel guilty for not giving my kids the childhood I had. I don’t live on a farm; I live on the edge of a city. I probably overcompensate.
‘My dad is always saying ‘why don’t you move back here?’ And I would love to be able to do that. I spend half my life looking at smallholdings.
‘But I work in TV and radio and my husband works in rugby so when we moved back to the UK we moved in with my parents in Cumbria.
‘We have little kids, he doesn’t want to commute for two hours a day. At this stage of life I need to be able to get into town.’
The former Blue Peter presenter said while she hopes to relocate to the heart of the country one day, living on the outskirts of Leeds also has its advantages as she has a big garden, which came in handy during lockdown.
