Free at last: Kate Langbroek reveals her ‘intense’ quarantine with her family of six is OVER as she celebrates ‘negative being a positive’ in Melbourne… after returning home following a two-year stint in Italy
Kate Langbroek has joyfully revealed her ‘intense’ quarantine with her family of six is complete, and she can now return to normal life Down Under.
The radio presenter, 55, was in a mandatory hotel quarantine with her husband and their four children in Melbourne, after returning from a two-year stint in one of the worst countries affected by the pandemic, Italy.
But on Christmas Eve, Kate revealed the group were finally free from lockdown – as she captioned a beaming picture of the family with: ‘When negative is a positive…’

She added the captions: ‘six do quarantine’ and ‘Christmas, here we come.’
Kate and her husband of 17 years, Peter Lewis, returned to Australia at the start of the month after relocating to Bologna, Italy, with their four children – Lewis, Sunday, Artie and Jan – in January 2019.
When the gang were halfway through their quarantine in the middle of December, Kate spoke out about her experience during an interview with The Project.
‘It’s really, very intense to have six people together in a very small space with not even a window that you can open,’ she candidly said.
‘The only consolation is you can yell at the kids as loud as you want. No one will come!’ Kate joked.

‘You can do whatever you want. No one is breaching the security of that front door. They’ll just leave you to it,’ she added.
Their trip to Italy was supposed to be a ‘family gap year’, but they decided to extend the break for an additional 12 months before coronavirus was declared a pandemic.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kate explained her family was almost split up into two groups of three for their two weeks of quarantine.

‘When we came off the plane, and there were only 30 people on our plane, we just got allocated a hotel,’ she said.
‘The first hotel we were at had no capacity for six people to all be together so we were going to be split up for the two weeks, into two groups of three.’
Fortunately for Kate and her family, they were sent to another hotel that could accommodate them.
She will join KIIS FM’s 3pm Pick-Up next year alongside Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond and Yumi Stynes, replacing departing host Rebecca Judd.
