Maria Shriver and her son Patrick Schwarzenegger are proving that anything goes when it comes to what to wear at Christmas.

On Friday the 65-year-old author and her 27-year-old actor son were seen walking off their Christmas indulgence in some quirky outfits as they took a stroll in Brentwood.

Shriver opted for a cowboy hat as she walked beside Patrick who looked like he rolled right out of bed as he sported pajamas.

Shriver wore a pair of leggings and a festive red Christmas cardigan on the outing, topping the look off with a straw cowboy hat.

Her mask in hand and some oversized sunglasses on her face she and Patrick got some fresh air in sneakers.

The Midnight Sun actor leaned into the spirit of the holiday as he donned a matching green and white striped pajama set.

Opting to get a caffeine fix on the outing he carried an ice beverage in hand before posting a video of himself with a Santa filter on social media.

On Christmas Eve the family, including Katherine Schwarzenegger and her husband Chris Pratt, got together to watch a virtual Mass at Maria’s house.

Pratt shared a video of he and Katherine with their newborn girl Lyla as they celebrated her first Christmas surrounded by immediate family.

Shriver tweeted, ‘Merry Christmas! May today be a day of joy, peace, calm. May we all try to reach out to others on this day. So many are struggling, so many are alone. The sound of your voice will make someone’s day. God bless everyone here & everyone working today so that others can be safe.’

Doing something charitable for the community ahead of Christmas, Shriver, Patrick and her son Christopher teamed up with the organization Plating Change to donate 5,000 meals to those in need in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Around Thanksgiving the family spoke about building new traditions as the pandemic has uprooted many typical gatherings across the nation.

A family tradition around the holidays is to hand out meals at their local church which was thwarted on account of the virus.

‘It feels a little weird when you’re not physically doing something, you know, you can always find ways to give financially, but when you actually go, and this is part of our family tradition every year, so that will be interesting to see as well.’

Shriver told Fox, ‘we’re going to get a new tradition,’ as everyone continues to scale back holiday plans and adjust to the new normal, while adding the health of her family was the most important thing.
