Danni was an intruder on Seven’s reboot of Big Brother this year, which saw contestants compete in physically and mentally demanding challenges.

A secret health battle – Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) – added extra difficulties for her to succeed in some of the show’s tough tasks.

Danni was diagnosed with FND in early 2019, which affects her mobility, nerves, strength in her hands and movement of her fingers.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Danni revealed her FND had made her self-conscious about working out alone in gyms or attending group fitness classes.

‘My disability, it can be very confronting for anyone to see what I have to go through. If I have an attack, I can’t speak, my whole body convulses and I look like someone with Parkinson’s.. and it can happen at any time.’

‘It’s more a concern for that happening in a group setting than anything. At work if I have an attack I’m practically having to be carried through the office and it’s just humiliating,’ Danni said.

Danni previously said she kept her disorder private on the show as she never wanted to get special treatment by Big Brother or her fellow housemates.

‘Obviously, I don’t have the strength that others have in their fingers and hands, and my mobility is affected, but emotionally I was more affected,’ she said of competing in the grueling physical challenges.

‘When you have a disability, the first thing you do is talk yourself down. It’s overcoming the mindset, that’s the hardest challenge of all.’

The mother-of-two developed symptoms of the disorder in 2018, but wasn’t properly diagnosed with FND until early 2019.

‘Sufferers have similar symptom to MS [multiple sclerosis], MND [motor neurone disease] and Parkinson’s disease – it affects people differently,’ Danni explained.
