AFL star Dale Thomas takes brutal revenge on The Bachelorette’s Georgia Love 18 months after she ratted on him for drinking before a game
Former Carlton star Dale Thomas has finally had his revenge on ex-Bachelorette Georgia Love, who infamously ratted on him for drinking alcohol two days before an AFL game in May last year.
Dale, 33, wasn’t allowed to take part in the crunch match against St Kilda – which Carlton ended up losing by 13 points – after it emerged he’d chosen to drink at a charity event less than 48 hours earlier.
At the time, the newsreader and reality star, 31, gleefully tweeted she had been at the same event and claimed Dale had consumed more than three drinks.

‘I was there and saw him. There’s no way he’d only had 3 drinks,’ tweeted Georgia, who starred in second two of The Bachelorette in 2016.
While it’s important to note that Georgia did not break the story about Dale’s ill-advised drinking – sports journalist Caroline Wilson had that honour – by tweeting this she did pile in on him when he had already been stood down by the Blues.
Dale, who last year retired after playing 258 games across 14 seasons with Collingwood and Carlton, acknowledged he’d made a ‘poor’ decision to drink in public before a game.
‘I let my guard down at the event and this is not an excuse in any way, clearly I need to be better,’ he said in a public apology.
But he never forgot the way Georgia stuck the boot in at one of his lowest moments.
He brilliantly hit back at the 10 News First reporter on Tuesday after she complained on Twitter about being trolled.
Georgia had sparked a wave of abuse after humble-bragging about buying a house with her fiancé, Lee Elliott, during the Covid-19 recession.
She wrote on social media: ‘Because launching two businesses and planning two weddings during a global pandemic wasn’t stressful, interesting or financially draining enough, we thought, “Why not buy a house too?”‘
In response to the backlash, she tweeted: ‘Current situation: being trolled because I tried to celebrate buying a house. That’s enough internet for today.’
Dale noticed the irony of the situation and replied: ‘Being trolled for having a good time and enjoying your own life sucks, aye! At least mine was for charity!’
His clapback has been liked two thousand times as of Wednesday morning, and has inspired an avalanche of memes in honour of his brilliantly timed response.
Georgia then doubled down by posting another whingeing tweet about ‘trolls’.
‘Being trolled for calling out that I was being trolled is really the epitome of 2020, hey. You can respond and call me all the names and tell me to die all you like, I’m out for the year. Merry Christmas, guys,’ she wrote.
