Steve Jacobs pretends to ride a broomstick while dressed as Harry Potter as fans see awkward detail

Can you tell what’s wrong with this picture? Today viewers notice a VERY awkward detail as weatherman Steve Jacobs pretends to ride a broomstick while dressed as Harry Potter

Steve Jacobs has returned to the Today show with a bang.

The 53-year-old triumphantly stepped back into his role as Today’s weather presenter on Monday morning, before leaving viewers stunned with a rather awkward Harry Potter-inspired segment.

During the scene, a sprightly-looking Steve emerged in full Harry Potter costume as he pretended to fly around on a wooden broomstick.

Thanks to the low camera angle used throughout the segment however, the father-of-two’s broomstick unfortunately also resembled a comically large phallus.

Further, the manner in which he straddled the broomstick was suggestive of a solo sexual act.

Steve took no notice, however, and continued presenting the segment with his trademark gusto.

‘Let’s have a look what’s happening with the weather as we’re up here flying around on our broomsticks!’ he exclaimed, gyrating backwards and forwards on the wooden prop.

As the segment came to a close, host David Campbell couldn’t help but advise Steve: ‘I want you to go back and watch this segment. Just watch what you are doing and get back to us.’

‘Is it reminding you of lockdown, David?’ Steve joked.

Meanwhile, bewildered viewers flocked to Twitter to discuss the awkward display, with one concerned mother Tweeting: ‘My 8 year old just asked why Steve Jacobs was playing with his ‘doodle’ during his weather segment just then.’

‘Steve Jacobs on the #TheTodayShow this morning pretending to fly as Harry Potter looked like he was wielding a massive strap on,’ another fan observed.

Elsewhere, one viewer admitted they’d suffered a momentary convulsion after viewing Steve’s broomstick display.
