Not present was one of the other finalists, Maisie Smith, who was stopped by police after they caught her ‘travelling at speed around a roundabout’ close to Strictly Come Dancing’s studios.

The EastEnders actress, 19, is thought to have been driving to rehearsals on Thursday when she was pulled over.

In pictures obtained by The Sun, Maisie’s white Volkswagen Golf can be seen next to the building’s gates as an officer chats through the window.

A source told the publication: ‘Maisie was told to be more careful next time given it’s so dark and wet out there at the moment.

‘It was more of a friendly reminder than a serious reprimand and no further action is being taken.’

A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson also confirmed a vehicle was stopped and the ‘driver given words of advice’.

A spokesperson added: ‘Officers on patrol saw a vehicle travelling at speed round a roundabout on Shenley Road, Borehamwood, at about 6.30pm on Thursday 10 December.’

MailOnline has contacted Maisie’s representatives and Hertfordshire Police.

Maisie also appeared on the spin-off show on Wednesday with her pro partner Gorka Marquez.

Maisie and Gorka wowed the judges with their two performances on Saturday and were left speechless after receiving 59, an almost perfect score.

Taking to Instagram Stories backstage after the show, Gorka was surprised to see Maisie had already tucked into the pizza as he started filming.

He said: ‘You’re already eating the pizza’ with Maisie responding simply: ‘Starving.’

As the EastEnders star asked ‘what just happened’, Gorka added: ‘I don’t know. I don’t have words. Speechless.

‘Guys I hope you enjoyed the show and our dances as much as we did. I absolutely love them.’

He turned to his dance partner and continued: ‘I’m so proud of you. You smashed it.’

Maisie said: ‘We love you. We appreciate the support so much. We want to be in the final so bad.’

Gorka added: ‘We just want to make you proud and make another week to dance and to just do the best for you guys.’

Maisie and Gorka took on street for the couple’s choice dance, pulling off a perfectly choreographed routine to Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It by Will Smith.

The dance left the newly-returned socially-distanced audience on their feet, with judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse particularly excited.
