Anthony Mackie is a super high-tech military android on the hunt for ‘advanced weapons’ in first trailer for action film Outside The Wire
He’s most well known as robo-suited flyboy the Falcon within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But in his new role, the robotics are a part of Anthony Mackie, who plays a fierce and high-tech android in Netflix’s new film Outside The Wire.
In the trailer for the futuristic action movie, which dropped Monday, Mackie recruits a young new cadet to his elite military unit, which is tasked with removing ‘advanced weapons from beyond the wire’ – a demilitarized zone occupied by fearsome killer robots.

The wide-eyed new cadet, Leo, is played by Damson Idris of Snowfall fame.
When Leo remarks, ‘I don’t have any specialist training as a field agent,’ Anthony is seen evading one of the robots with aplomb as he hurls a grenade at it and then shoots the explosive device in a run-down hallway.
Next, Anthony is seen shirtless, when he responds to his new recruit with, ‘Don’t worry, I’m special enough for both of us.’

As the actor turns around, the light catches his skin and intricate robotics glint within his torso.
The pulse-pounding trailer never lets up, with military and combat-inspired action sequences piling up one after the other.
Hand-to-hand combat as well as a lion’s share of gun-toting shoot-em-up montages are rife throughout the clip.

The trailer for Outside The Wire packs a bleak and dystopian vision of the future, populated by Terminator-like robots roaming a bombed-out wasteland.
The film is set to premier on Netflix on January 15th, 2021.
The coming attraction comes just days after a first-look trailer for Mackie’s other high-profile project, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, dropped as part of Disney Investor Day.

In that Disney+ series, Anthony reprises his role as Sam Wilson a.k.a. the Falcon, opposite Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier.
The pair continue their portrayal as two of the world-saving Avengers who take on the mantle of Captain America now that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers has aged out.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is set to premier on March 19th of next year.
