Selena Quintanilla’s brother says Christian Serratos did an ‘outstanding job’ of playing his sister in the Netflix series

Legendary Tejano songstress Selena Quintanilla’s brother A.B. Quintanilla is a fan of the new Netflix series about his late sister’s life.

The record producer, 57, raved about Selena: The Series while talking to TMZ, also defending leading lady Christian Serratos’ performance during the conversation.

A.B. said the 30-year-old actress did an ‘outstanding job’ of capturing his sister’s essence.

Quintanilla also laughed at people saying Serratos’ lip-syncing was ‘off’, telling the site it was a sign of a great performance.

‘That was done on purpose because Selena’s lip-syncing was also a learning process,’ he explained, noting that as the series goes on, Serratos gets better.

A.B. also said people who are judging Christian for not looking like Selena aren’t getting the point, reminding everyone how people said the same about Jennifer Lopez before her performance in the 1997 film.

He also touched on the ‘drama’ over J. Lo, who is Puerto Rican, playing Mexican-American icon Selena, calling that ‘ridiculous.’

‘The actor’s job is to make you create…  they’re embodying that person and they make you think and believe “Wow, I’m watching that person,”‘ A.B. said.

Happy: He later went on: 'If Selena could have seen this series I think that she would just be ecstatic and she'd be as happy as I am and and my whole family are.' Selena is seen in 1994 above
