Robin Thicke is feeling nostalgic for his late father Alan Thicke on the fourth anniversary of his passing.
The 43-year-old singer paid tribute to his comedian father, who starred in Growing Pains and had a noteworthy 40 plus year career in entertainment, before he unexpectedly died at the age of 69 from a heart attack on December 13, 2016.
On Sunday Robin shared a photo of he and his newborn son Luca as he reflected on the relationship between father son while writing a heartfelt caption as he told his dad, ‘I miss you every day.’

With roused emotions on a very tough day, the Blurred Lines singer posted to social media as he slept next to Luca who was born on Friday.
He penned a lengthy caption to go with the intimate photo as he wrote:
‘Four years ago today, on December 13, 2016, my beloved Father passed away. As I wake up next to this little guy his first night home, I miss my father so much, but I feel his love in my heart every time I kiss my babies on the head the same way he would kiss me.’

He continued, ‘I’m crying a little right now. Partly because I’m sad you’re not here, but mostly because I’m happy that I had you to love me, guide me, and show me the way.’
Thicke signed off, ‘I hope I make you proud. I miss you every day. Thank you Dad.’
In another snap posted yesterday of him holding his son he said, ‘I wish my Dad [and Andre Harrell] were still here to meet him, but I will do my best everyday to each him what they taught me about Family, Friendship and Love.’

The Masked Singer judge lost his father after he suffered an aortic tear in his heart while playing ice hockey with Robin’s brother Carter, 23.
Alan was warned about his health months before his passing, as he and his third wife Tanya filmed an episode of Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry who told Thicke that he had to keep his heart in mind.
‘It’s possible that within your family there might be multiple men who end up at a later age dealing with blood pressure issues, but also deal with either a heart murmur or heart arrhythmia,’ Henry told him.

After his death Tanya spoke to E! News about the eerie premonition from the medium as she said:
‘The fact that he touched on the heart and kind of kept emphasizing that…my husband went in for a checkup two months later and he had a full clean bill of health.’
‘What happened to Alan is a massive heart attack, an aorta, you really…it’s hereditary and there was no indication that that was in the family history so it wasn’t something that the doctor’s would’ve been looking for,’ she said.
Robin has two brothers Brennan, 45, and Cater and is the father to four kids – Julian, 10, Mia, two, Lola, one, and Luca – sharing his three youngest with fiancee April Love Geary who he started dating in 2015 while Alan was still alive.
