EastEnders SPOILER: Jack Branning isn’t prepared for what Bobby Beale reveals after shock confession… as Ian fights for his life after mystery attack

EastEnders’ Jack Branning will not be prepared for what Bobby Beale reveals on Friday after he makes a shock confession.

His dad Ian was left fighting for his life after he was mysteriously attacked, which sparked a massive whodunnit.

Bobby and his brother Peter have been trying to keep their cool as suspicion around who was responsible mounted.

In scenes set to air on Friday night, Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) is questioned by Jack (Scott Maslen) at the police station.

Bobby looks to become increasingly frustrated as Jack questions him, with him hitting the table with his index finger.

Peter (Dayle Hudson) had plenty of reasons to hate his dad after learning he’d been taken out of his will, and Bobby certainly has a murderous streak after killing his sister Lucy.

Fans will have to wait and see who was responsible for the attack on Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and whether he will recover from the shocking attack.

Ian’s attack already has a long list of suspects, and the storyline will be extended beyond the festive period as viewers eventually discover what happened before the unconscious businessman was discovered by Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

Viewers have already been given one piece of the jigsaw, with Albert Square regular Tina Carter claiming Ian lashed out at her shortly before he was attacked, leaving her with a split lip.

Speaking to sister Shirley about the incident, which left her covered in blood, she said: ‘Things flared up in the Square so I followed him into the house.

‘Things got heated and I hit him and he hit me, I wasn’t going to stand for it so I went for him.

‘He tripped and he fell and he hit the table. He was dazed when I left the house. Supposing he left the house and went to the Vic and passed out…’

However, the true identity of Ian’s assailant will remain a closely guarded secret until Christmas.

A source said: ‘People are queuing up to cave Ian’s head in. As far as legendary EastEnders characters go, Ian is up there with the best so this storyline will leave viewers shocked.

‘He has no shortage of enemies so exactly who attacked him and left him for dead will be the focus of the weeks that follow.’

EastEnders airs on Friday 12th December at 8.35pm on BBC One.
