Mikael Borglund, the executive producer of both the original Halifax F.P. titles and Halifax: Retribution, said he expected the series to be ‘popular in the US’.

‘It was real pleasure to bring so many of the original team back together, including creator and writer Roger Simpson, to see how Jane Halifax’s life had unfolded over the past two decades,’ he said.

‘I’m sure it will prove very popular in the US.’

In August Rebecca said her favourite part of reprising her role in the series was slipping back into her character’s high end fashion.

The actress told The Gold Coast Bulletin that she loved, ‘to actually be able to put on a Hugo Boss coat and really nice shoes’.

‘[It] was like “Oh this is nice, I forgot about this,” she added of returning to the show, which originally aired from 1994 to 2002.

Rebecca said she watched back older episodes recently and felt a little overwhelmed, but she relished taking on the role again as a mature woman.

‘When we first talked about bringing her back I went and watched some of the old ones and I was like “Oh my God”.

‘I mean they were great but I was only about 30 when I started playing a forensic psychologist.

‘Really, I’ve probably only just qualified now at my age. Well, to be a proper one,’ she joked.
