Brynne Edelsten shares an emotional post about finding happiness in her life

She declared bankruptcy in 2016 amid her high-profile divorce from multi-millionaire Geoffrey Edelsten, 77.

And after years of feeling ‘completely lost and defeated’ with low self-worth, Brynne Edelsten claims she’s finally learnt to love herself again. 

In an emotional reflection on Thursday, the American socialite, 37, insisted she has bounced back from some of the lowest moments in her life.

Brynne, who once flaunted her lavish lifestyle on reality TV show My Bedazzled Life, has recently adopted a regular job to support herself.  

‘I am so grateful for the people who have checked in on me, stood by me and encouraged me when I felt completely lost and had lost all hope,’ she said.

‘I felt completely defeated and had literally given up on EVERYTHING, but it turns out that’s exactly what I needed to do,’ Brynne continued.

The blonde bombshell said she is now ‘at peace’ with herself and is the happiest she’s been in a long time. 

‘What meant everything to me was what was destroying me and what I thought I could not live without was what was killing my sense of self worth. I couldn’t imagine letting go of the life or “love” I was hanging on to but now I can’t imagine ever looking back,’ she said.

Brynne ended: ‘I’m looking forward to the future… I’m at peace with myself. I feel like myself again and that’s something that no one can take away from me.’  

The former fitness instructor is best known for her marriage to Australian medical entrepreneur Geoffrey Edelsten – whom she wed in a lavish $3.3 million Melbourne ceremony in 2009. 

After five years of marriage, the pair separated in 2014 and finalised their divorce in the years to follow.

Since their separation, Brynne chewed through all of her savings, has been ‘living on a budget’ and even declared bankruptcy in 2016. 

Brynne told fans last month that she is now ‘loving her job’ at Jankara Bourke Karaoke Bar on Bourke St in Melbourne.    

‘So excited to be working behind the bar every Thursday,’ she said, adding hashtags ‘love my job’, ‘drink to that’ and ‘life goes on’. 

In June 2015, Brynne told Kyle & Jackie O during a KIIS 1065 radio interview that she hoped for a large monetary divorce settlement, but had heard that her ex was skint.

‘From what I hear, he’s bankrupt,’ she told the radio hosts, but added that she suspected he might surprise her. 

In June 2016, Brynne was declared bankrupt by Melbourne’s Federal Circuit Court. 

It was previously reported that a Victorian law film had begun proceedings against Brynne for $70,000 in unpaid bills. 

At the time, Brynne publicly claimed to have ‘cut back (her) cost of living dramatically’ amid her financial troubles and was living ‘on a budget’ in a one-bedroom apartment while waiting for a divorce settlement.     

‘I’ve gone through all my savings,’ she confessed to the Herald Sun in 2016.  

Brynne has had quite the chequered romantic history over the past decade.  

After her divorce from Geoffery, she became engaged to comedian Brett Hunter in June 2017. 

At the time, she told Stellar that she was content with swapping her luxurious life in a Melbourne penthouse for a suburban house share with three other flatmates.

‘As much as things may have been a lot easier during my marriage, as far as life in general, it was very lonely. I’d rather have to struggle a bit and be happy,’ she said. 

That short-lived romance seemed to have fizzled out when she later found love with Leno Cachia.

They went public with their relationship in March 2018, but in October 2019 she revealed they had split up in a lengthy rant on Instagram.  

‘Life is so much easier when you stop holding on to what holds you back,’ she declared in the caption. 

‘It’s better be be alone than be miserable,’ the blonde bombshell added, as she boasted about her beach day with her ‘number one’ – her pet dog.
