Speaking to Dan Wootton and Lizzie Cundy on TalkRadio, he said: ‘I’d say the biggest challenge is the removal of spontaneity.

‘I’ve realised, I live alone and I like spending time with myself, but having that option to pop out for a coffee with someone, when that’s removed it becomes difficult.’

However he went on to say that he has had many positive moments through the ordeal and said: ‘Some really beautiful things happened during lockdown…

‘One of my friends kept baking sourdough and delivering it. I was so excited to get homemade sourdough, with masks and gloves on passing it over in the street.’

‘It brought out a sweetness in some people. That was the main thing, I rallied against it and I was a bit upset and depressed. Then I thought you’re lucky, you have a roof over your head and don’t necessarily have to work. So shut up and get on with it.’

‘I used the time to be creative, I’ve done some incredible things, that I may not done had this not happened. I’ve just made a record with Tony Visconti without meeting. There’s been a strong will to get stuff done.

‘I’ve achieved a lot but physically haven’t done that much.’

‘At first it was the struggle to find motivation, being lazy can become very enjoyable. Now I’m excited. I always say if I had it to flaunt, I would be flaunting it.’

Next conversation turned to a Boy George biopic and Lizzie quizzed the songwriter on whether he may be played by Harry Styles.

Admitting that doubt had been cast over Harry’s involvement, he said: ‘I’m not sure whether that will happen. Harry is one of the people who has been approached Harry is embarking on an acting career.

‘Producers did look but not sure if it’ll happen. I think it’s very challenging to play someone like me, most people have the complete wrong idea of who and what I am, a lot of stuff is weird mythical rubbish.

‘I meet people all the time and they’re so lovely, sometimes I’m out and someone will say hello. My friends will say do you know them? And I’ll say no!

‘Equally being in the public eye there’s just people who don’t like you. They don’t like your hat or that you’ve got a mask on. That’s something that comes with fame and getting you wrong.

‘People don’t realise I’m a gemini, what I said 10 minutes ago I don’t mean anymore!’

Boy also discussed his upcoming performance at the SS Arena later this month, which he hopes will go ahead despite a looming London lockdown.

He revealed that if the 1000 strong audience are unable to attend the show will be streamed online.

He said: ‘As it stands we are allowed 1000 human beings, that’s all being done really safely. Without an audience we’ll still do a stream, which will be from the SS Arena, but it would still be nice to have some people.

‘Even rehearsing, I’m so excited! I’ll be behind glass, but I’m excited about that so even If we rehearse and don’t play that’s something.’
