Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou reveals how she has changed her plans to keep her family safe from COVID over Christmas

Ada Nicodemou is looking forward to Christmas, even if COVID-19 has made it a little different this year.

The Home and Away actress, 43, told The Daily Telegraph on Sunday that she won’t be visiting friends and extended family.

Instead, it will be a small family affair spent just with her son Johnas, eight, and her  partner Adam Rigby, 50, as well as her mother and brother.

‘I will still wake up on Christmas morning and open presents with Adam and Johnas. Then it’s lunch at my brother’s place with my mum,’ she said.

With her mother in an age group that is at higher risk due to COVID, Ada will keep others at bay.

‘It will just be us hanging out. No one else is coming over,’ the soap star told the magazine.

Earlier this year, Ada praised her boyfriend of four years, businessman Adam, for being such a great stepfather to her son.

The actress told TV Week: ‘For a man to come into my world and love a child as if he were his own – and love me like I’ve never been loved before – is incredibly special’.

Ada also told the magazine that she’d become more outspoken with age and due to the pandemic.

‘I’m not sure what it is, but there’s something about this year – and maybe my age – where my give-a-s**t radar has gone out the window,’ Ada told the publication.

‘We’ve all endured an awful year and I just thought to myself, “I’m just going to say what I want to say.” Let’s get back to basics and bring empathy and compassion back into our lives.’
