The former Strictly dancer, 26, and the EastEnders actor, 56, were chosen by the public to face the grisly trial, which sees them put into a small glass box filled with worms.

Hosts Ant and Dec said: ‘AJ, you’re going first, you’ve got two minutes. But before that, you need some company’ as wardens brought in a vat of worms.
Shane – who was doing his fourth consecutive trial – joked: ‘You’re gonna mess your hair up’ with AJ responding: ‘They’re gonna have a proper party in there aren’t they?
‘There goes the shampoo commercial’ Shane added.

AJ was heard squealing as a shower of 2,000 maggots and 1,000 giant mealworms were poured over his and Shane’s head, with the actor retching.
The dancer began to shriek as he used his tongue to rotate the star, which was by now covered in wriggling worms.
As his shrieks increased in volume, Shane shouted out encouragement, saying: ‘Go on buddy, go on AJ, smashing it.’
The clip ended with AJ successfully spinning a star off the road and spitting a critter out of his mouth.
Tensions had been simmering between Shane and AJ in recent days after they had a disagreement over cleaning.

On Thursday’s episode, Shane asked who was doing the washing up before jokingly throwing his tin on the floor and later transferring it to a bucket for cleaning- much to AJ’s chagrin.
Fans took to social media to express their joy that the pair would be forced to do a Bushtucker Trial alongside each other.
One user wrote on Twitter: ‘I should be sleeping but I got distracted by tweets about the drama with AJ and Shane and how we voted for them to do the trial together’.
Another fan said: ‘As if the UK have voted for AJ and Shane to do the next trial hahah class they clearly don’t get on. Should be good’.

It comes after Shane’s son branded AJ a ‘little b***h’ in a furious Instagram video following his father’s row with the dancer.
He also said the Strictly dancer should ‘shut up’ after he argued with his father in the camp over dirty pans.
Defending his father, Shane said: ‘He’s not going to be everybody’s cup of tea and when you see people slate your dad, he can’t clean, my step-mum will vouch for that, other people will vouch for that.
‘AJ was a little b***h when he was talking about him. Look how clean I’ve got them. F*** off mate, got a dishwasher mate, back off.

Shane wasn’t done there – he later told AJ to ‘shut up you little girl’ before saying: ‘Oh he didn’t do the washing up properly, so f*****g what? Jesus get a life.
AJ and Shane had a tiff on Monday’s show after the camp chores were assigned on Sunday night.
And AJ continued to rant over Shane’s ‘dirty’ pans on Tuesday as he complained they weren’t clean enough,

Yet on Tuesday’s episode, then camp leader Jordan asked AJ to do the washing up as Shane was doing a trial and Ruthie was feeling homesick.
After scrubbing the pots and pans, the dancer commented on how much cleaner they were looking thanks to his own handiwork.
To which Beverley asked: ‘So Shane’s done a very bad job?’ with the other campmates looking around.
Commenting on Shane’s ‘dirty’ pans in the Telegraph later on in the episode, AJ said: ‘Oh my God, no wonder our rice has some weird flavour to it.
‘I’ve cleaned the whole thing (pots and pans), they look brand new. You could sell them right now.’

It comes after AJ was left unimpressed when he discovered the pans hadn’t been cleaned and ended up having a little tiff with Shane on Monday night.
AJ and Jessica Plummer are now on washing up duties in the camp and speaking in the Telegraph on Thursday’s episode, AJ said: ‘If you do a job too well you get given a job, don’t you? I’m happy with my role. Yeah, I don’t know why I’m talking high pitched, but I’m happy.’
