And on Tuesday morning, restaurateur and businesswoman Lisa Vanderpump responded to the latest LA County Department of Health order.

Adding: ‘Masks are essential, stay safe we will prevail. Happy thanksgiving.’

Lisa and husband Ken Todd’s restaurants include PUMP Restaurant & Lounge, SUR Restaurant & Lounge and Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar.

They also have Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, but that is in Las Vegas so it is not affected.

They had another restaurant was permanently closed in June after 12 years of business due to the lease expiring – with the landlord not willing to renegotiate amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Per the new order from the LA County Health Department, restaurants, bars and breweries are only allowed to offer takeout, delivery and drive thru.

The order is due to an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases in the county.

Restaurants shuttered their doors in March at the start of the pandemic with the first stay at home order; only essential and emergency workers were allowed to leave their home.

By late May, they were allowed to reopen only with outdoor dining, something which cost a lot of money to do.

This new order means that that is no longer allowed, at least for the next three weeks, beginning Wed, November 25 at 10 pm when the order takes effect.

Outdoor dining has been key in helping restaurants survive the economic toll the pandemic has cost, allowing them to keep their doors open and supply jobs as well.

The order was put into effect by the county after the five day average of COVID-19 cases went above 4,000 – the average was 4,097 cases, per ABC 7.

In addition, the state of California is under a curfew since Saturday – an order that came from Governor Gavin Newsom, who himself has come under fire for attending a sit down dinner with different households earlier this month.

The curfew is from 10 pm until 6 am, meaning California residents and non essential establishments (including restaurants) are not allowed to be out or open.

The only exception is if a person is going to a doctor, picking up groceries, food or walking their dogs.
