Celebrities including Guy Sebastian, Jennifer Hawkins and Carrie Bickmore rally around Johnny Ruffo after he reveals heartbreaking news he is fighting brain cancer for second time
Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo revealed he is battling brain cancer for a second time on Tuesday night.
And it didn’t take long for Australia’s entertainment industry to express their sincere love and support for the talented TV star.
The Project host Carrie Bickmore, who lost her first husband Greg Lange to brain cancer, immediately offered words of support.
‘Oh Johnny…..Sending so much love to you. Kick it’s a**e,’ she wrote.

Home and Away co-star Ada Nicodemou added: ‘So so sorry to hear this Johnny, you are so incredibly strong and brave and you will beat this once again.’
It didn’t stop there with Jennifer Hawkins, Larry Emdur and entertainer Rhonda Burchmore also offering their support.
‘So sorry. Keep fighting, you’ve got this!! Sending love,’ wrote Jennifer.

Meanwhile, Rhonda wrote: ‘Oh my darling friend this makes me so very sad – if anyone can beat this you can. Sending big love’

On Tuesday evening, Johnny broke the heartbreaking news of his illness to his friends, followers and fans on Instagram.
‘After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned,’ he wrote.
He finished defiantly: ‘Though I will dig deep and beat this shit disease again.’

Johnny has been through an extremely public battle with brain cancer, always having long-time girlfriend Tahnee Simms by his side.
The TV star’s life changed in August 2017 when he had a 7cm brain tumour surgically removed, before undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Doctors had discovered the tumour by chance after Johnny went to hospital with painful migraines.

He was in a coma for 48 hours after being admitted to hospital.
Just last year, Johnny celebrated being cancer free by posting scans of his brain from 2017 and 2019 to Instagram.
He wrote in the caption: ‘Exactly two years ago versus today, so glad to have beaten this horrible disease. Thank you for all the support!’
Johnny rose to fame on talent show The X Factor in 2011, where he placed third.
He later portrayed Chris Harrington on Home and Away from 2013 to 2016.
