Vanessa Hudgens says there is no way she’d play four different characters in The Princess Switch 3: ‘That’s just too outrageous’

Vanessa Hudgens will be playing three different royals in her new holiday rom-com The Princess Switch: Switched Again.

And while the actress, 31, is already set to twin it again in a forthcoming third Princess Switch, she said there was no way the story would ever add a fourth look-alike into the mix.

‘No, no, that’s just too outrageous,’ Hudgens told The Wrap. ‘We’re already at max outrageous here with three characters, we’re just going to keep it at that.’

Enough! Vanessa Hudgens thinks playing three characters in The Princess Switch: Switched again is ‘outrageous’ enough and laughed at the idea of adding yet another doppelganger in the forthcoming sequel. She’s seen in February 2020 above

The High School Musical star went on:  ‘And I would 100% lose my mind if I tried to add another me.’

Vanessa, who plays both Chicago baker/Princess Stacy and doppelganger Duchess Margaret in the Christmas romp, wasn’t discounting how fun taking on four characters would be.

She even had some ideas about princess four, noting the character would ‘probably be Scottish,’ because Princess Switch 3 will be filming in Scotland.

‘I love that accent and it would be a great excuse to master the Scottish accent,’ she mused. ‘But no, that’s not happening.’

In the Princess Switch: Switched Again, out now, Vanessa returns to her roles as Stacy and Margaret, as well as stepping onto the scene as the party girl Lady Fiona Pembroke.

While the original duo deals with coronations, winter romance and place-swapping shenanigans, Lady Fiona has more devious plans.

‘Why can’t I be queen?’ she heard asking her henchmen in the film’s trailer, then seen tinting her hair black and cooing ‘Off with their heads’ into the mirror, à la the Queen Of Hearts.

Hudgens knew she was in for a challenge when she read the script for The Princess Switch: Switched Again, telling Entertainment Weekly:  ‘After I read it I thought, “Ooh man, this is going to be a lot of work.”‘

‘Three of me? Me, myself, and I! I was very excited to create yet another character and had such a blast doing so.

‘I was told they wrote in a new character but I had no idea how much fun it would actually be.’

The Princess Switch: Switched Again is now streaming on Netflix.
