The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah revealed she agonized over having to tell her devout Mormon parents she had become pregnant in college.
During an appearance on the Dear Media podcast Currently Cringing, Jen said she dreaded having to tell her parents she was expecting a child with her now husband Sharrieff Shah.
The couple were unmarried, and the future star waited until she was just a few months away from her due date to tell her mother the truth.

Jen met her now husband Sharrieff Shah in college and got quite serious with him.
Her dating life did not come under scrutiny from her parents as she was attending a school an hour away from home.
But everything changed once she found out she was pregnant.
Jen says she couldn’t bring herself to tell her father.
‘I can’t tell my father,’ she explained. ‘So the second I find out I am devastated because I’m like, “You don’t understand. My life just ended. This is against everything I’ve been.”‘

In contrast to her dread, Sharrieff and his family were delighted to find out about the baby.
‘And it was so weird for me because Sharrieff like, “Oh my gosh, I’m so happy.” Cause his mom calls his dad, his dad gets on the phone and is like, “Jen, I’m so excited, baby.” Oh my. And I’m like, “Hey, this is really weird. Cause we’re not married.”‘
Finally, Jen decided to call her mom.
‘I tell her, I tell my mom and she’s, I’m like, “Mom, I’m like, so, you know, um, I need to talk to you about something I’m pregnant.”‘

Jen did eventually marry Sharrieff, and now the couple share two sons together.
She even converted from Mormonism to Islam.
On the premiere episode of RHOSLC, Sharrieff recalled meeting his wife for the first time in college.
‘We had a class together. I saw her, my heart stops immediately. I walk up to her, “Is that seat taken?” She looks at me like, “There’s nobody there. I guess not.” That’s how we met.’
