Funny: Poppy Delevingne has admitted that ‘all hell broke loose’ in her famous family after she dropped a huge Riviera series three spoiler

Talking about her role in Riviera and acting career in an interview alongside, Poppy admitted that you have to ‘let go’ while performing and you don’t ‘recognise yourself’.

Talking to Rollacoaster magazine about her role as Daphne and how it is the longest she’s ever played a character on TV, she said: ‘You kind of become that person while you’re filming.

‘You have to let it happen and let go, which I really love doing. You almost don’t recognise yourself at some points.’

Poppy went on to admit that it is ‘really evil’ to give away spoilers and ‘all hell broke loose’ in her family after she told her father, Charles, a twist in the show who told her older sister Chloe, 35.

She joked: ‘It’s really difficult because obviously it’s really evil to be giving things away. I might get in trouble for saying this, but I told my dad about the plot twist in this upcoming series.

‘And he told my older sister by accident, who is a huge fan of the show, and all hell broke loose. I got phone calls coming from my sister going absolutely ballistic like, ‘Are you joking?’.’

Poppy added that she had to quickly disguise the spoiler and you have to be ‘really strict’ with yourself to keep any script twists a secret. Series three of Riviera started in October.

She continued: ‘I’ve since convinced her that the secret wasn’t true. But it is really difficult and you have to be really strict with yourself. There are some big surprises in season three and I think it’s really going to shock people.

‘I want to maintain that surprise for everyone, so I won’t be telling my dad or anyone else before it airs!’

Poppy also revealed that she landed her role in Riviera by having an argument with her co-star Jack Fox during her audition.

The model stars as Daphne Eltham in the Sky Drama after joining in the second series, with Jack, 35, playing her twin brother Nico. The two have since become ‘such good friends’.

She said: ‘Jack and I were actually really lucky because we knew each other before we got cast in Riviera. We had done modelling gig together years and years ago.

Family: She admitted: 'He [her father] told my older sister by accident, who is a huge fan of the show, and all hell broke loose. I got phone calls coming from my sister going absolutely ballistic like, 'Are you joking?'.'

‘Since then, we have known each other, not very well, but always had this kind of familiar connection with each other.

‘When we went in to audition we were already sort of comfortable with each other and we even ended up having a little sibling-like argument. The director just went, “Okay. We found our twins”.

‘After spending a few days together, we started finishing each other’s sentences and people were like, “Wait, are you two actually related?”. It really felt like such a blessing that we had this connection pre-filming.’

Riviera follows Georgina Clios (Julia Stiles), an art curator whose life is turned upside down after the death of her billionaire husband in a yacht accident.

Elsewhere during the interview, Poppy revealed that she was able to spend lockdown ‘surrounded by nature’ and it gave her a chance to ‘live in the present’.

She said: ‘At the beginning, it felt very strange and scary. I was lucky because I was able to go to my place in the countryside where I have a garden and could be surrounded by nature.

‘It also gave me a moment of pause to live in the present and really think about and be grateful for things. And I was finally able to learn to cook something more complicated than beans on toast!’
