Ex-MAFS bride Ines Basic reveals she’s consulting a dialect coach and considering moving to America

EXCLUSIVE: MAFS bride Ines Basic is consulting a dialect coach as she sets sights on moving to America to become an actress

Ines Basic has detailed the lengths she is willing to go to in order to turn her dreams of becoming an actress into a reality.

The Married At First Sight bride is now consulting an American dialect coach to prepare for a potential move to the United States.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the brunette stunner, 30, claimed her agent is encouraging her to consider the move to further her career.

‘That’s what my agent wants me to do. She says “your name is extremely established in Australia as a reality TV star and because we don’t have much opportunity, you’d be really good in America”,’ Ines said.

‘I’ve got a dialect coach to learn an American accent and it’s really weird because when I do my script in the accent, I can actually remember my lines better than speaking normally in an Australian accent.

‘I’m not sure if it’s got something to do with my first language being in Bosnian, but it’s really fascinating.’

The TV bombshell, who shot to fame in the 2019 season of MAFS for her steamy affair with co-star Sam Ball, said her family being located nearby in Alberta, Canada, was another reason to consider the opportunity.

‘I only have my mum and sister here in Australia, who are both thinking of moving there to be closer to everyone else,’ Ines said.

Despite feeling ‘nervous’ about breaking into the industry while juggling her law degree, the starlet remains optimistic about the idea of relocating to Los Angeles.

‘I have to go back to law school next year so it’s going to be interesting – I am in my first year at the moment,’ Ines said.

‘I don’t have any auditions lined up at the moment – it literally happened the other week. It’s so fresh and new.’

Ines said her dream role would be ‘anything with a lot of depth and substance to it – even if it’s outrageous’.

‘This sounds bizarre and you may think I’m a weirdo, but I’d really like to play a drug addict,’ she said, adding playing the role of a woman in prison was also appealing to her – especially on shows similar to Wentworth and Underbelly.

Ines is nominated for the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) award for Favourite TV Moment of the Decade for her steamy on-screen affair with Sam Ball on MAFS.
