MTV announces new The Challenge: Double Agents cast as reality TV worlds collide in Iceland to compete ‘in a game of secrets, spies and lies’

They’ve ruled the reality world for decades.

And MTV announced the latest installment of their famed competition series, The Challenge: Double Agents.

Contestants will compete ‘in a game of secrets, spies and lies’ while away from friends and family for the series filmed in Iceland.

T. J. Lavin is back as the host with the most for the 36th season of the espionage thriller which debuts on Dec. 9

As usual, veterans and rookies will compete for titles and their share of the one million dollar prize package.

In a new twist for the long-running program, a third group, the double agents, will be revealed into the game.

The arguably most seasoned contestant this season is Chris ‘CT’ Tamburello with his 18th appearance on a Challenge.

Following closely behind for strong showings on the competition series are Aneesa Ferreira and Wes Bergmann with 14 seasons each.

Leroy Garrett has made a Challenge appearance on 12 seasons, while Nany Gonzalez will mark her 10th show this year.

The contestant with the most prize money to date on the show is Ashley Mitchell with a cool $1,121,250 earned in two wins across seven shows. 

Most notably absent from the veteran roster is Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio who has won $1,184,720 with seven Challenge wins in 20 competitions.

Cory Wharton, Devin Walker, Darrell Taylor, Jay Starrett, Kam Williams, Kyle Christie, Nelson Thomas, Nicole Zanatta, Theresa Jones, Tori Deal and Tula “Big T” Fazakerley are also competing as veterans. 

Big Brother stars who crossed over to the MTV show include: Faysal Shawn ‘Fessy’ Shafaat, Josh Martinez and Kaycee Clark.
