Old habits die hard! SAS Australia’s Jackson Warne boasts about trying new food at base camp… before tucking into a burger after quitting the show

SAS Australia’s Jackson Warne stunned viewers when he revealed the very short list of foods he had eaten in his entire life.

And after quitting the Channel Seven’s military-style show on Tuesday, the 21-year-old was back to his old habits, and was treated to one of his old favourites – a burger.

‘I managed to survive eight days and I am so happy and proud of myself,’ he said in a video on SAS Australia’s Instagram story, which he later shared on his account.

As he sat in the car ready to be whisked back home, he added: ‘I tried all of the foods, all of the dinners and soups, and everything that was put in front of me.

‘But one thing I will never take for granted ever again is burgers, because I’m so hungry, and these burgers are about to get demolished,’ he concluded, as he cheerfully chomped away.

On Tuesday, Jackson broke down in tears as he talked to his cricket star father Shane on FaceTime after quitting SAS Australia.

‘Guess what! I tried everything. I did everything. I tried all the food, I did all the ropes courses, I did all the water stuff, I did it all,’ he proudly told his dad.

Clearly chuffed, Shane told his son ‘well done’ and asked him if he was ‘glad’ he’d agreed to appear on the gruelling reality show.

‘Yes, so happy! I learnt so much. It’s changed my life,’ Jackson told Shane, who smiled and told him, ‘That’s awesome’.

Since leaving the show, Jackson has expanded his taste palette by trying new and different foods, which he has documented on his Instagram.
