  • Singer Gill, 33, was taken to hospital and has beefed up security at farmhouse

JLS pop star JB Gill was sprayed in the face by robbers who threatened his wife with a knife during a 3am raid on his £1.5million farmhouse.

The singer, 33, was attacked by the four thugs and taken to hospital after he confronted them in the home he shares with his wife Chloe and their two children.

Chloe, 32, is said to have been threatened with a knife before the gang made off with valuables from the secluded farmhouse. It is not known what Gill was sprayed with.

Security has now been beefed up at the secluded home and police are investigating. They are said to have informed the National Crime Agency – Britain’s FBI – amid fears of an organised crime gang targeting locals, The Sun reports.

Gill and his family were ‘extremely shaken’ but escaped serious injury.

Yesterday, a source told the paper: ‘This was a terrifying incident. JB was sprayed in the face and the gang threatened Chloe with a knife. He wanted to protect her and their kids but the best way to do that was to cooperate with the gang.’

A spokesman for Gill told MailOnline: ‘JB and his wife had hoped to keep details of the incident private in order to safeguard their young family.

‘They are all well and safe having increased home security.’

Gill shot to fame with JLS in 2008 when they finished runners-up on The X Factor. Tjey split in 2013 with an estimated £6million fortune each.

He moved into farming after buying the 11-acre property on the outskirts of London.

Gill grows vegetables and breeds livestock, including pigs and turkeys.

Speaking once about his farm, he said: ‘The pop star lifestyle is full-on. You don’t get much time off so I wanted somewhere peaceful I could escape to. Here became the perfect place to relax and recharge.

‘It’s the ideal place for them [his family] to enjoy the British countryside.’

Neighbours claim there have been a spate of burglaries and car thefts in the area.
