Nine News presenter Livinia Nixon reveals the awkward time she met George Clooney while wearing tracksuit pants
Nine News presenter Livinia Nixon has travelled the world and interviewed many famous faces.
And on Thursday, the TV presenter recalled an embarrassing past meeting with Hollywood star George Clooney on 9News Melbourne’s Unmasked series.
‘This is actually a career low-light,’ the 45-year-old told co-hosts Peter Hitchener and Tony Jones.

She explained that she was on a flight from New York to Los Angeles and thought it would be fine to put on a pair of tracksuit pants for the 5am flight.
‘My producer Brent Williams said, “George Clooney’s over there he was on the show last week, you’re going to have to go – as a PR gesture and thank him and say of course he’s welcome on the show again”.’
The blonde beauty said she tried to talk her way out talking to the Academy Award winner because of her unflattering ensemble, but was forced to do it.

She recalled: ‘So I went over and said: “Excuse me Mr Clooney and he was like this – “oh shoot me now” – you could tell it was written all over his face, “please just leave me alone”.’
Livinia said that she thanked him for his time and welcomed him back to the show she was presenting.
She noted that he didn’t seem interested, but was nice enough to entertain the invitation.

‘So there’s a lesson – never catch a flight wearing track pants,’ she added.
Her outfit choice wasn’t the only embarrassing thing on that happened on the flight – Lavinia said that other passengers screamed in excitement as Clooney boarded.
‘People were losing their mind. I could hear people screaming “omg it’s George Clooney”. It was embarrassing.’
Livinia married to Alistair Jack in 2009. They share two sons – Ted, seven, and Henry, 10.
