Robbie Williams is forced to delay the release of his new album due to the pandemic

Robbie Williams is ‘forced to delay the release of his new album due to COVID-19 pandemic’… as travel restrictions keep him apart from musical collaborators

Robbie Williams has reportedly decided to axe plans to release his 13th album until the pandemic settles.

The crooner, 46, was set to release the record this year, but is said to have pushed plans back to 2021 at the earliest.

Songwriting partner Guy Chambers told The Sun: ‘Robbie wants to do another record, but obviously we can’t because of the situation. He’s in Los Angeles and no one can fly to America.

‘Our relationship doesn’t work in different countries, we have to be in the same room together to create.’

Guy, 57, worked with Robbie on his latest record – The Christmas Present – which was released in 2019, and is also credited on the likes of albums Swings Both Ways [2013] and The Heavy Entertainment Show [2016].

Having teased that the latest album would be ‘disco-themed’, it looks to be on hold indefinitely.

Robbie worked on his new music over the last lockdown, saying afterwards: ‘I’m in a new musical genre, a genre I haven’t really touched before.

‘I’ve got to say, as I look down the list of my new songs from my new album, that I don’t know when it’s coming out. It’s got a very disco feel to it.

‘I’ve been writing some songs with Gary Barlow in the last few weeks too,’ he added, of his ex-Take That bandmate.

Robbie’s wife Ayda spoke about the family’s ways of dealing during the COVID-19 crisis.

Speaking recent about how she has coped as a parent in lockdown, she said: ‘There were definitely moments where I felt like I was in my groove and then moments where I thought I was the worst parent in the world.’

Ayda and Robbie began dating in 2007 before marrying in his home in the Mulholland Estates, Beverly Hills in August 2010.

The happy couple share Theodora, eight, Charlton, five, Colette, two, and eight-month-old Beau, whose arrival was a surprise to fans on Valentine’s Day.
