Ex-producer says Firass Dirani has ‘KILLED his TV career’

‘You’ve blown it’: Ex-producer claims Firass Dirani has ‘KILLED his TV career’ and his behaviour on SAS Australia has made him ‘unemployable’… as the actor’s feuds with co-stars rage on

Firass Dirani hit headlines for all the wrong reasons this week, amid his controversial stint on SAS Australia.

And former Channel 10 executive Rob Knight did not mince his words while speaking about the actor on Friday – branding the 36-year-old as ‘unemployable’ and claiming his actions on and off the show have ‘killed his TV career’.

In a scathing opinion piece on TV Blackbox, Rob sensationally claimed Firass has ‘blown it’ and is to blame for his ‘villain edit’ – because he ‘acted like an idiot’ on the show.

Is it game over? Former Channel Nine executive Rob Knight did not mince his words when speaking about Firass Dirani (pictured) on Friday – branding the 36-year-old as ‘unemployable’ and claiming his actions on SAS Australia have ‘killed his TV career’

‘His antics on social media and in interviews has only provided further evidence that he is not a victim of the “villain edit”, but is simply facing the consequences of his own actions,’ he said of the Logie Award winning actor.

On Thursday, Firass claimed to Daily Mail Australia that his co-star Shannan Ponton is a ‘redneck’ and a ‘culture vulture’ for having Maori tattoos, after the Biggest Loser trainer labelled him a ‘sociopath’ over his behaviour on the show.

And on Friday morning, the Underbelly actor was seen blasting another co-star, Merrick Watts, during an explosive live interview on The Kyle and Jackie O show – where he accused the comedian of ‘trying to baby’ him during filming.

Rob added that TV execs will now be ‘taking note’ of Firass’ actions on and off the show – and said this could far overshadow his acting ability when being considered for future TV roles.

‘Dirani is now a liability,’ he wrote. ‘Will viewers avoid his next project because they don’t like the man?

‘If he has shown this type of behaviour off-screen during his previous projects producers will use his most recent appearance as an excuse not to hire him.’

He signed off saying he hoped the ‘money was good’ because Firass has ‘blown it, mate.’

Rob’s slamming post comes after viewers began to witness the cast becoming increasingly frustrated with Firass on the show, as his insubordination has resulted in group punishments.

Merrick had pleaded with Firass to ‘stop gobbing off’ and start listening on Tuesday’s episode, to which the actor sarcastically replied that it wasn’t ‘his first barbecue’.

Merrick appeared on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa on Wednesday and promised more spats with Firass in the coming episodes.

‘Yeah, 100 per cent, I’ve got another blow-up in there, don’t you worry about that!’ he said.

However, Merrick clarified that he did not consider Firass a bad person, saying he was just not the best team player.

‘To be honest, if Firass rang me right now and said, “Do you want to go get coffee, or have a beer tonight?” I’d go have a beer with Firass… but put it this way, I wouldn’t want to be starting a recreational basketball team with him,’ he said.

SAS Australia continues Monday from 7:30pm on Channel Seven
